Maintenance Manager

Requirements

Reporting to the Engineering and Maintenance Manager, you will:

  • Champion maintenance projects to ensure they are completed on time and on budget, ensuring the maintenance budget is optimized and maintained per plan

  • Ensure an effective preventive maintenance program and spare parts inventory are implemented and maintained

  • Communicate effectively to report on status of lines and equipment based on OEE

  • Proactively engage in performance board and CI meetings and implementation of actions and CI initiatives

  • Provide strong leadership to the Maintenance department by coaching and developing personnel, including providing feedback and conducting formal evaluations to ensure the right level of skills, competencies and expertise are in place

  • Recommend and provide training for Production employees (Process, Packaging and Sanitation) on equipment operation procedures to maximize machinery reliability and output and minimize downtime

  • Ensure that all maintenance & facility activities are performed and materials used are in accordance with Arla Foods standards and applicable legislation (CFIA, OMAFRA, CSA, OHSA, HACCP)

  • Utilization of ladder logic, structured text and other IEC programming languages

  • Troubleshooting and maintenance of PLC systems (Allen Bradley, Omron, Siemens)

  • Build and maintain a strong Health & Safety culture within the Maintenance department and support all departments in following Arla Foods internal policies to meet or exceed the OHSA requirements

  • Work with supervisors to implement investments, technology, and equipment needed for resource optimization

  • Participate as a member of the Food Safety / HACCP Team

  • Work closely with procurement to source, contract and manage external suppliers and contractors to ensure any work performed does not adversely affect the quality, safety or cost in the plant

  • Responsible to ensure all contractors receive safety orientation and comply with the guidelines and OHSA requirements
